Bump Set Spike

So I got my tree but it is sitting in a mixing bowl full of water for now. It needs a little surgery to fit into the tree stand. It is also all bundled up so it looks really skinny and sad. I can't wait to cut the rope off and see how big it is. Like those expanding sponge capsules that explode when you add water. Or those washclothes that are little cubes till you put water on them.

I played vb w/ a team that was really good tonight-the team I played w/ wasn't all that great =) It was a lot of fun. I am sooo worn out from it though. AM SOO OUT OF SHAPE!

BUT I get to get my Christmas tree tonight. I can't wait! And then after I get my tree a bunch of us get to go to a guy from work's apt. and decorate his tree and play board games.

OK gotta run.

Non sto mai a questo hotel ancora. Lei può soddisfare il passo il sause di calamaro?

YAY!! Mindy got the job! ! How exciting. Congrats!! I know you will miss the crazy people from the last job but sounds like it will be more fun.

Today was kinda rough. I didn't get enough sleep so it was super hard to focus on the crap I was reading. I am thankful tomorrow is Friday. I can't wait to sleep in on Saturday morning. I'm looking forward to going home next week too. It is so nice being home. I feel so relaxed. It is like a vacation. I don't have to do anything or be anywhere and is sooo nice having my mom and dad cook meals. Actual meals w/ fruits and vegies and meat seasoned correctly and not over garlicked. And having them take care of the dishes. OOOH I can't wait!!

Tonight was one of the little holiday work parties. It was ok but it was all project managers so they are mostly older and intimidating. I think my favorite part of the evening was when I went to the bathroom and they had language tapes playing teaching you how to say "I am never staying at this hotel again because of the bad service" in Italian. A woman walked in as I was repeating it. I wish some of the younger people were going to be at these things. I have like 4 more I'm supposed to go to and they have such potential for being a good time. I think one of them is gonna be at the cubbie bear. Deb maybe you could meet me at it.

I don' t like the cold that comes with winter but I am so excited to get my Christmas tree. I'm gonna have a Christmas tree decorating party on the first or second Sun in Dec so mark your calendars.

I didn't know hippies played lacrosse

Ok, Deb always complains cause I don't put enough stories on here but the thing is, they happen...I get in front of my computer...I forget.

But since I can't think of anything interesting to others about myself right now I will share a story from someone else's life.

There is a guy at work named Eric who is a crazy hippy. A few weeks ago he was out in one of the work trucks and it stopped working. There are random "H-E-L-P" vehicles that drive up and down the highway and these guys pull over and clamed to be one. After they check out the problem they tell him to wait there while they go down the road to get the part. Long story short Eric got screwed...well the company got screwed because the shady samaritan's way overcharged for the work they did. Eric was too preoccupied cause his friends were waiting on him to get done w/ work so they could take off for a lacrosse game up at Notre Dame so he actually ran out of the office inadvertantly before everything was taken care of w/ the "mechanics". So he's playing the game of his life, is hopped up on adrenaline from the whole truck fiasco and scored more goals then ever. Then an opponent wacks him hard on the back of the neck w/ his stick. Eric goes down. His teammates start charging the enemy screaming save the hippy. Turns into a major lacrosse style brawl. After the game Eric has like 20 missed calls. After returning some calls he has broken up w/ his girlfriend and found out one of his relatives has died. Both were a long time coming and for the best he said. Later that night he finds himself at a poker game w/ a group of guys that for the most part he didn't know and for the most part were drunk. He, again, is playing the best game of his life. He ends up winning the pot and one of the drunk guys gets a little too riled up. Eric had taken his shoes off at the front door so is barefoot at this point. It gets uglier so one of the guys there that he was good friends w/ told him to run out the back door and meet him at such and such place. Eric takes off running down the street w/ no shoes on and scared for his life.

I think that is where the story ended. I hear he had a pretty spectacular Halloween but I was warned that I might be offended so I didn't ask about it.

Brought to you by Deb: Cell phone

Since I'm bored, I just looked at all ur pics. One of the first ones that is posted has me on the phone right in the front of it. Jen is sitting next to me and actually made a comment about me being on the phone all the time. I must be ridiculous since she's only known me for a month or so. Actually, her and Kate were talking about how they felt like my secretary last week. Of course, I think the majority of the phone calls were from one of the two of them, but whatever. Funny none-the-less.

Hmm don't know if I'm ready for 2006...

I just read every blog I've ever posted on this thing. 11 months-took less then 20 minutes!! That just doesn't seem right. I know I didn't post every day but I would have thought it would take more then 20 mins. to summarize all I'd done in the past year! Wow that went quick. A year ago I was in my third semester of grad. school and the beginning of the second year of my internship. We were just about to start a brownfield grant in Augusta and now the company I work for is doing the environmental cleanup of that site. I was a red sox fan-now root for the white sox on account of geography. I am excited to celebrate New Year's in Chicago~especially since I have a personal fashion consultant to pick out the attire~and am hoping it will be more fun then the past couple in Springfield have been. I wonder if we'll still be posting on this a year from now.

Congrats To Mindy

Yay, Mindy has gotten an interview lined up for next week. I hope it goes great Mindy!!

Nothing too interesting has happened lately w/ me. Other then running into an old friend from college. It is a pretty spectacular coincidance actually. I will explain in case Becca and Mandy read this cause I think everyone else knows.
Halloween weekend when I was leaving a costume store in Boys Town I heard someone say my name! I look up and it is a guy I went to IC with that I haven't seen or talked to in over 3 years!! CRAZY ASS SHIT! Turns out he is living in a burb 10 mins. away. He grew up in the area so is super excited about showing me around and he says his friends never want to do anything exciting so now I guess I won't have to go to stuff by myself all the time! Wed we went to a swing dance lesson at a bar in Nville and last night we went to a wine tasting and then to a open bar party at northbeach (the place I've been playing indoor sand vb). It was a pretty good time. Baker and Quali met us out and there was a group of people from my office. Baker's friend Quali is so hot one of the gay guys said she could probably turn him straight!!

Kay all I got for now.

I wish I was a song writer

So, the people at work always have music on the U drive and sometimes it's really weird. Like today. This guy had Sufjan Stevens. I had never heard of it but really like it...all except the john wayne gacy jr. song which was freaky. So I was talking to a diff guy at work about it and emailed me this blurb read it...

Sufjan Stevens: IllinoisThe brilliant young singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist SufjanStevens returns to Spinning On Air to present his forthcoming album,"Illinois" (due out July 5th). Continuing his ambitious project ofrecording an album for each of the 50 states, Stevens has created anelaborate, innovative, poetic, emotionally powerful album of songs thatare inspired--sometimes directly, sometimes abstractly--by people andplaces in Illinois. Stevens joins host David Garland to talk about hisalbum, and brings his group, The Illinoisemakers, into the WNYC studioto perform some songs live.

What an ingenious idea!! You get to tour the country and sell 50 diff. cd's at the same time. So awesome! ok gotta go play vb now. #1 Stunnas rock the house that rocks the party.
